All bases are sanded with a nice finish and ready to use in your weaving projects.
If the groove in your base is too narrow to insert the spokes, run sandpaper around the groove several times, and /or sand down the end of each spoke (you want a tight fit).
**(Please note that Pine Bases normally contain knots)
